It's a common scenario in Armenia: you, as the car owner, receive a traffic violation notice for an offense committed by someone else who was driving your vehicle. Fortunately, there is a straightforward official procedure to reassign the administrative act, or fine, to the person who was actually behind the wheel.
What are the steps involved?
Submit a Request: Within a 30-day period after receiving the notification, you must submit an application through the unified e-request platform: www.e-request.am.
State Your Case: In your application to the Traffic Police, you need to state that another person was driving the vehicle at the specific date and time of the violation. Formally request that the administrative decision be redirected to the actual driver.
Attach Required Documents: You must attach copies of the actual driver's license and the vehicle's registration certificate (technical passport) to your application.
Await the New Decision: After submitting the request, you will receive a new decision regarding the fine within the next 30 days.
Important Note: Be aware that in certain cases, the Traffic Police may require additional proof to verify that the person you named was indeed the one driving the car at the time of the violation.
