According to Article 6 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, a vehicle is considered part of the concept of a "dwelling." This means your car benefits from all the legal guarantees of the inviolability of the home, as enshrined in Article 32 of the Armenian Constitution.

Legal Conditions for a Search

As per Article 32, Clause 3 of the Constitution, a search of a vehicle can only be conducted based on a court order. This is a critical point: police cannot arbitrarily search your car without a proper court order.

Inspection vs. Search: Know the Difference

Inspection:

If a police officer attempts to search your car in Armenia, you have the right to:

Demand to see the court order.

Refuse the search if no court order is presented.

Consent only to a visual inspection, while clearly stating that you do not consent to a search.
