taxservice.am no longer opens as a website - the tax authority's public site is now src.am, run by the State Revenue Committee. The taxservice.am e-services themselves still work on their own subdomains: self-portal.taxservice.am to log in as an individual, file-online.taxservice.am for returns and e-invoices, personal-account.taxservice.am for your income-tax and pension account.
- src.am - the State Revenue Committee's public website: legislation, guidelines, calculators, news, contacts. Available in Armenian, Russian and English.
- self-portal.taxservice.am - the Unified System of Electronic Services for Individuals. This is the "personal cabinet" and where the annual income declaration is filed.
- file-online.taxservice.am - the File Online system: tax returns for businesses, plus the "Electronic Accounting Documents" (e-invoicing) system, in operation since 1 June 2023.
- personal-account.taxservice.am - the Individual Accounts Information Portal: income tax and mandatory funded pension contributions made on your behalf.
- e-invoice.taxservice.am - checks whether an electronic invoice serial number is valid.
- SRC call centre: +374 60 84 44 44.
Why taxservice.am does not open
Typing `taxservice.am` in a browser gives a connection error, and it is not a temporary outage: the domain no longer has an IP address for its main site. The zone itself is alive - the mail servers still route `@taxservice.am` addresses, and the service subdomains listed above resolve normally - but the public website was retired in favour of src.am, the site of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia (SRC, in Armenian ՊԵԿ, Petekamutner).
This is why an old bookmark or a search result pointing at taxservice.am fails while the tax e-services you use every quarter keep working. Nothing was lost - only the front door moved.
The State Revenue Committee website at src.am, with the Natural person and Legal person sectionsHow to log in to the tax system as an individual
The personal account for individuals is the Unified System of Electronic Services for Individuals at self-portal.taxservice.am. The sign-in page has two tabs, and which one you use depends on your citizenship.
- Open the sign-in page at self-portal.taxservice.am and choose the interface language with the Հայ / Рус / Eng switch in the top-right corner.
- Pick your tab: "RA citizen" or "Foreigner". Citizens of Armenia authenticate with the national electronic identification; foreign citizens get a username-and-password form.
- Tick "I agree with the User Agreement and Data Protection Policy". Until this box is checked, the sign-in button stays greyed out - this is the most common reason people think the site is broken.
- Citizens: press "Sign in with the YES em system". YES em (Ես եմ) is Armenia's national e-identification service; it uses your identity card or mobile-ID electronic signature.
- Foreigners: enter your username, password and the captcha, then press "Login". Use "Forgot password?" on the same screen if needed.
An Armenian identity card carries an electronic signature, but it has to be activated first. That is done at ekeng.am, the EKENG national certification centre, which also issues mobile-ID. Without an active signature you cannot authenticate as a citizen or sign a submitted declaration.
What a Taxpayer Identification Number is and how to get one
A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) is the code the tax authority identifies you by. It is unique, never reassigned to anyone else, and stays with you for life: if a sole proprietor closes and later re-registers, they keep the original TIN.
- Eight digits: the first seven are a sequential number, the eighth is a check digit calculated from them.
- Companies and sole proprietors receive a TIN from the State Register Agency during state registration.
- Organisations registered by the Central Bank of Armenia receive it from the Central Bank.
- Notaries, individuals who are not sole proprietors, accredited diplomatic missions and permanent establishments receive it from the tax authority itself.
- A VAT payer's registration number is the TIN followed by a slash and the digit 1.
- Online application is available to resident individuals who are not sole proprietors, notaries, accredited diplomatic and consular missions, and to non-resident individuals and organisations.
Which system do you actually need?
Filing the annual income declaration
Individuals file the annual declaration through self-portal.taxservice.am. The SRC breaks the process into five steps: check whether you must file and by when, activate your electronic signature at ekeng.am, log in to the SRC platform and obtain a TIN, complete and submit the annual income tax return or the simplified calculation, and finally pay the tax or claim a refund of social expenses. We cover the full procedure in our separate guide to filing the annual tax declaration in Armenia.
Business returns and electronic invoices
Companies and sole proprietors use file-online.taxservice.am. The File Online system validates fields and calculations automatically as you complete a return, and keeps sections for drafts, registered returns and an archive. The same address hosts the Electronic Accounting Documents system, live since 1 June 2023 under Government Resolution No. 1257-N of 5 October 2017, which issues, adjusts, invalidates, cancels and signs invoices without extra software and exports them as XML, PDF or Excel.
Checking that an invoice is genuine
Enter the invoice serial number at e-invoice.taxservice.am to confirm it is valid - worth doing before you accept an invoice from an unfamiliar counterparty.
Seeing your income tax and pension contributions
personal-account.taxservice.am, the Individual Accounts Information Portal, shows the personified records of income tax and mandatory funded contributions paid on your behalf, lets you check subsidy obligations on funded contributions, and lets you request an account statement electronically.
Other tools on src.am
The Natural person section of src.am gathers the individual-facing services: taxpayer registration, the annual declaration, real-estate lease, income tax refund, taxi services and the accounts portal. The site also carries a taxpayer search system, a sales tax calculator, a vehicle customs duty calculator, a tax calendar of filing deadlines, and a VIN-based vehicle search.
Type the address yourself or follow a link from src.am. Tax portals are a favourite target for phishing, and a fake sign-in page that harvests your electronic-identification credentials gives an attacker your declarations and your bank-linked identity. The genuine hosts all end in `.taxservice.am` and the SRC site is `src.am`.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does taxservice.am not open?
The public website at taxservice.am was retired; the tax authority's site is now src.am, run by the State Revenue Committee. The domain still hosts the e-service subdomains - self-portal, file-online, personal-account and e-invoice - so the services themselves keep working.
Where is the taxservice.am login page?
At self-portal.taxservice.am for individuals, and file-online.taxservice.am for businesses filing returns and issuing electronic invoices. Both are reachable from the src.am menu.
Why is the sign-in button greyed out?
Because the "I agree with the User Agreement and Data Protection Policy" checkbox is not ticked. The button stays disabled until you agree; tick the box and it becomes active.
Can a foreign citizen use the Armenian tax portal?
Yes. On the self-portal sign-in page choose the "Foreigner" tab, which offers a username-and-password login instead of the national electronic identification used by Armenian citizens.
How do I get a Taxpayer Identification Number?
Companies and sole proprietors get a TIN automatically at state registration through the State Register Agency. Notaries and individuals who are not sole proprietors get theirs from the tax authority, and can apply online.
What is the YES em system?
YES em (Ես եմ) is Armenia's national electronic identification service. It authenticates you with the electronic signature on your identity card or with mobile-ID, and it is how Armenian citizens sign in to the tax portal.
Where can I check whether an electronic invoice is valid?
At e-invoice.taxservice.am. Enter the invoice serial number and the system confirms whether it exists and is valid.
What number do I call for tax questions?
The State Revenue Committee call centre is +374 60 84 44 44. The general email of the SRC Secretariat is [email protected].
